These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Yeco AI platform, including the web application available at app.yeco-ai.co.uk and associated services (collectively, the "Service"), operated by Yeco AI ("we", "us", or "our").
By creating an account or using the Service in any way, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.
1. Description of Service
Yeco AI is a carbon emission tracking and reporting platform that enables organisations to measure, record, and analyse their greenhouse gas emissions across Scope 1 (direct emissions), Scope 2 (energy indirect emissions), and Scope 3 (value chain emissions), in accordance with recognised reporting frameworks.
The Service includes:
- A guided step-by-step reporting wizard for data entry across all three emission scopes
- An AI-powered assistant to help users complete reports accurately
- Analytics dashboards with emissions breakdowns, per-employee metrics, and historical trend tracking
- Auto-save and draft management functionality
- Role-based team collaboration tools for organisations
- A geographic emissions heatmap
2. Eligibility and Account Registration
To use the Service, you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Have the authority to accept these Terms on behalf of your organisation, if applicable
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
- Maintain the security of your account credentials
You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately at contact@yeco-ai.co.uk if you suspect any unauthorised access to your account.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Service only for its intended purpose of carbon emission tracking and reporting. You must not:
- Submit false, misleading, or fabricated emissions data
- Attempt to circumvent, disable, or interfere with the security features of the Service
- Use the Service to store or transmit unlawful, harmful, or offensive content
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the platform
- Use automated tools to scrape, extract, or harvest data from the Service without prior written consent
- Resell or sublicense access to the Service to third parties
- Use the Service in any manner that violates applicable laws or regulations
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these provisions.
4. Accuracy of Emissions Data
You are solely responsible for the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of the emissions data you enter into the Service. Yeco AI provides tools, guidance, and AI-assisted suggestions to support your reporting process, but we do not independently verify the data you submit.
Any reports, certificates, or outputs generated by the Service are based entirely on the data you provide. We accept no liability for errors, omissions, or consequences arising from inaccurate or incomplete data entry.
If you use AI-generated suggestions or interpretations within the platform, you retain full responsibility for reviewing and validating those suggestions before including them in any official report or submission.
5. AI-Powered Features
The Service incorporates artificial intelligence features, including a real-time help assistant and AI-generated analytics interpretations. These features are provided to assist with data entry and understanding; they do not constitute professional environmental, legal, or regulatory advice.
AI outputs may occasionally be incomplete, imprecise, or context-dependent. You should exercise your own judgement and, where appropriate, consult qualified professionals before relying on AI-generated content for compliance, regulatory, or business purposes.
6. Intellectual Property
All intellectual property rights in the Service (including software, design, algorithms, branding, and documentation) are owned by or licensed to Yeco AI. Nothing in these Terms transfers any ownership of intellectual property to you.
You retain all ownership rights in the emissions data you submit. By submitting data to the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to process and store that data solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.
7. Organisation Accounts and Team Access
The Service supports multi-user organisation accounts with role-based access controls (owner, admin, member). The account owner is responsible for managing team access and ensuring all members comply with these Terms.
If you are invited to join an organisation account as a team member, you agree that the organisation owner may view, edit, and manage your activity within that organisation workspace.
8. Service Availability
We aim to provide a reliable, high-availability service but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control.
We will endeavour to give advance notice of planned maintenance where reasonably practicable. We shall not be liable for any loss or inconvenience caused by service interruptions.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Yeco AI shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or business opportunity, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.
Our total aggregate liability to you in connection with these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim, or £100, whichever is greater.
Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
10. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time and request account deletion by contacting contact@yeco-ai.co.uk.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms or if required to do so by law.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. We may retain your data for a period in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable legal obligations.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in the law, our practices, or the features of the Service. We will notify registered users of material changes by email or via an in-app notice at least 14 days before the changes take effect.
Continued use of the Service after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
